Take that...

Saturday morning, before meeting a friend at the farmers' market, I weighed myself.  Even though I had worked out every single day and kept my net calories a day to 1200 (if I ate 1500 and exercised burning 300 the total was 1200... net?), I still gained a pound.  In my frustrations, I started yesterday morning out with a monster cookie and homemade caramels (who needs to merely buy fruits and veggies at the market?).  I continued with Mint M & Ms.  If you have not tried them, stop reading this silly post, purchase a pack, and eat them immediately... go, now!  I also ate the entire bag of spicy and sweet nuts I bought at the market.  In addition, I ate some food that would not be considered in the sweets (steak, tater puffs, cucumbers... you know...).  Today I continued the trend by having a mocha for breakfast. Plus, a sandwich and salad from Panera.  If the scale wants to mess with me, I'll eat what I want for this entire weekend.  Maybe I'll order pizza from Galactic Pizza for dinner.  Scale, take that...

I also decided to watch the last episode of Orange is the New Black while working on my Notebook file for school and answering school e-mails I ignored on Friday.  The episode took the exact same time as completing my school work.  School work, take that...  Yep, I have officially watched all 13 episodes.  The show is whack.  With each episode I feel conflicted.  Why am I watching this?  It's disturbing.  Why is this keeping my attention?  It's disturbing, clever, funny, and challenging.  The end of the last episode was crazier than "crazy eyes."  Piper perhaps left saying, "Take that..."  My guess is she is more like, "WTF?"  This isn't really a spoiler alert, but I'm glad I was watching it in the afternoon and not before I went to bed.  OitNB, take that... I won't have nightmares tonight.

I watched the first episode and just couldn't get myself to watch any more. I think I'll take it off my "watch" list!

That's exactly what I do when I feel the scale is being a bastard. I just eat more that day. I'm glad to know that someone else does this.

This year? No scale. I hope I don't gain weight. I'll let you know what happens.

I don't like mint, so the M & M's don't appeal. Though I do love a new product.

I watched all 13 and there were many episodes where I wondered why I was watching it. But I liked it. Now I'm watching Breaking Bad. We've watched 3 episodes. There's kind of a similar vibe.

Sankalpa Day 5

Today I went back to the interweb to find out what I could post about that would relate to sankalpa .  "...Sankalpa has the potential to release tremendous power by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal."  My chosen goal since May has truly been on being physically active.  Since it's cold and miserable out, I've been being active inside instead of outside.  December 6th (or something like that) was the last time I ventured outside for physical activity.  I, however, have still been going to they gym and focusing on being physically fit (or at least burning enough calories to eat more food).  Yesterday I received an early morning text from a friend in God's Country .  President Obama was talking about "The President's Challenge" .  Today (I tried yesterday and decided to put it off until today... forget out it... let it happen... put it aside... clear my mind of it... all probably sankalpa) I formed a group.  The...

What if... The Delivery

Molly was excited to get a package from her friend who lives in Alaska.  When she opened the box, she was confused.  Although the shirt was actually soft and of good quality, she was upset by the guns in the flag.  When she googled Holster's, it was exactly what she thought... pro-gun.  She didn't know how to handle the situation, so she sent a picture stating she was confused. Her friend had obviously lost her mind.  During the conversation, she kept proclaiming that she hadn't sent a t-shirt.  When Molly explained it was her writing on the box, things became weird.  The friend was in a state of denial.  Molly even sent a text with a picture of the writing on the box. Molly's friend was adamant that she sent homemade condiments.  She wouldn't give up on her story even though it was clear Molly is in possession of an NRA type t-shirt.  After much deliberation, the two friends realized what had happened.  The original box, wit...

Missing You

Two Sundays ago I missed church because I was out of town. Last Sunday I missed church because I could not get to church due to the marathon (blocking my path... not my running). Dad and I tried to leave early, but we did not leave early enough. I joked with Dad about the fact that they would miss me at church. When I checked my e-mail this evening, I actually had an e-mail from my pastor saying I was missed. It was a short e-mail, but it was sweet and definitely a positive part of my day.
