First Sunday of Advent--Peace

Today is the beginning of the Christmas season. In church this morning we lit the peace candle, read passages from the Bible, and listened to peace statements (Hindu, Native American, Buddhist, United Nations declaration, etc). Images of braided streams and braided lives played as people shared the messages. As I listened it seemed a bit ironic and frustrating after reading this morning's news.

Blog Challenge #7
I used my itouch during church to find the image portrayed on the screen, so I could add it to my blog entry. Did I mention I love that there is Wifi to use during church?

I used bighugelabs.com (? really don't remember) to make the Christmas mosaic (my lovely Christmas decorations) to celebrate the start of advent.

I haven't been to church since new media arrived on the scene, but I'm pretty sure my old church would have frowned on its use while within the church environs. You obviously attend a very fun church. I like what you've done here.

I like this mosaic - and all these "New Media" ideas are really piling up. It's not so bad being the worst "New Media" person on the challenge. I'm getting lots of new tips. A rising tide lifts all boats and all.

WiFi during church is also a great invention.

Sankalpa Day 5

Today I went back to the interweb to find out what I could post about that would relate to sankalpa . Since it's cold and miserable out, I've been being active inside instead of outside. December 6th (or something like that) was the last time I ventured outside for physical activity. What if... The Delivery

Molly was excited to get a package from her friend who lives in Alaska. When she opened the box, she was confused. Although the shirt was actually soft and of good quality, she was upset by the guns in the flag. When she googled Holster's, it was exactly what she thought... pro-gun. She didn't know how to handle the situation, so she sent a picture stating she was confused. Her friend had obviously lost her mind. During the conversation, she kept proclaiming that she hadn't sent a t-shirt. When Molly explained it was her writing on the box, things became weird. The friend was in a state of denial.
