| Perhaps I'll be this happy tomorrow in my Cuddl Dudds |
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. -Romans 15:5-7
We can each list a number of things that wear us down. Tired of living from paycheck to paycheck. Tired of institutional inequality and inequity. Tired of not fully being recognized for who we are or what gifts we bring. Tired of fighting the good fight. Tired of being tired.
But did you notice that these verses don't talk about our steadfastness, but God's.
I often forget that God's love (and many people's love) is steadfast and agree that we should live together glorifying God and the world around us. This is, of course, the world around us is cold and the heat at our work place is not steadfast. Just joking... Kind of...
Today it is not difficult to list the things that wear me down. Especially the cold. Tonight I bought Cuddl Duds after everyone I complained to about not having heat in my room (with the exception of the male janitor and male principal) said I needed Cuddl Duds. They were on sale at Macy's (with everything else which is a rant for another time), so I bought my first Cuddl Duds. If they are as warm as everyone says, tomorrow I shall be steadfast against the cold in my classroom. Of course, we were told space heaters were also coming, but I'll wait to get excited about that when one actually appears in my room. Promises like warm rooms and space heaters are not steadfast like God's love.

Do all the kids have to buy duds too?
I will fool around with being steadfast about my writing today.
Today's word is hope.... Maybe I"ll find some hope in the situation... more to come.
A nice warm room is so pleasant. I hope you get yours back in toasty shape soon.
