Tonight's debate is not the only debate happening. Ever since I left school I've been debating whether or not to go to my church meeting. I really want to skip and go for a bike ride, but I feel guilty merely thinking about it without even following through. This means I'll be going to my church meeting and skipping the bowl of ice cream that I also want to enjoy.
This afternoon as I left school, there was no debate. One of my students was sitting with her math book open. "Are you finishing your math homework?" I asked. "Yes, but I always do my language arts homework. You inspire me," she answered. Even if it's not the truth, it was delightful to hear.
