Donnybrook at Riverfront Stadium
by Lillian Morrison
Oh, what a melee
Oh, what a brawl
Oh, what a slambang
Free-for-all.
Oh, what a brawl
Oh, what a slambang
Free-for-all.
Managers, umpires
And 48 players
Rolled on the ground
In knots and layers.
And 48 players
Rolled on the ground
In knots and layers.
Knight pushed Davis?
Davis shoved Knight?
Boys will be boys.
A bench-clearing fight.
Davis shoved Knight?
Boys will be boys.
A bench-clearing fight.
The two were ejected.

My online baseball source, Wikipedia, gave me interesting information about the Cincinnati Reds' stadiums. One was called Riverfront, so I'm assuming the above poem is speaking of the Reds. Other names for the Reds stadiums are more grandiose: Great American Ballpark (current), Palace of Fans, and Bank Street Grounds. Who makes up these names?
Today I give thanks for...
1) Mexico
2) vacation
3) books on my iPod and iPhone
