Dead End

Typically I don't post during the school day.  In fact I typically don't use the school computer for anything personally related.  Today is a different story.  It's my lunch break, and I have no desire to do anything productive.  Actually this attitude/behavior is not limited to lunch.  The seventh graders are taking a pilot MCA reading test on the computer, so realistically I should be able to sit back and correct the 130 five paragraph essays I collected yesterday.  As of 11:53 I have corrected six.  Instead of attempting to be more productive this afternoon, I plan on starting to read Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos.  Don't worry; I am not crazy enough to believe that the outcome will be any better than that of correcting essays.



Today I am thankful for...
1) Baby Ruth and Butterfingers
2) Having a book to read this afternoon
3) The ability to be crabby with my colleagues

... seriously, that's the best I have today.

I'm adding on after reading my news feeds for the day while this class rocks at concentrating on the test.    My concentration is not even close.  Anyway I read an article that said Adrian Peterson would not start running this week.  He had surgery two weeks before I did.  If Adrian Peterson isn't up to running, and my PT thinks I'll be able to do 10 minutes on the elliptical next week, my recovery from my hip surgery is damn good.  Add that to the list of thanks!

Sankalpa Day 5

What if... The Delivery

  Molly was excited to get a package from her friend who lives in Alaska.  When she opened the box, she was confused.  Although the shirt was actually soft and of good quality, she was upset by the guns in the flag.  When she googled Holster's, it was exactly what she thought... pro-gun.  She didn't know how to handle the situation, so she sent a picture stating she was confused. Her friend had obviously lost her mind.  During the conversation, she kept proclaiming that she hadn't sent a t-shirt.  When Molly explained it was her writing on the box, things became weird.  The friend was in a state of denial.  Molly even sent a text with a picture of the writing on the box. Molly's friend was adamant that she sent homemade condiments.  She wouldn't give up on her story even though it was clear Molly is in possession of an NRA type t-shirt.  After much deliberation, the two friends realized what had happened.  The original box, wit...

Missing You

Two Sundays ago I missed church because I was out of town. Last Sunday I missed church because I could not get to church due to the marathon (blocking my path... not my running). Dad and I tried to leave early, but we did not leave early enough. I joked with Dad about the fact that they would miss me at church. When I checked my e-mail this evening, I actually had an e-mail from my pastor saying I was missed. It was a short e-mail, but it was sweet and definitely a positive part of my day.
