Good Things Come in Three

#1 This morning I went for a walk with my iTouch without my phone. When I returned home hot and sweaty, I realized I didn't have my keys. The first thing I did was flag down someone leaving and ask to use her cell phone. My intention was to call a friend who has a spare set of my keys. When my friend didn't answer, the lady asked me what I was going to do. Already my mind had moved to the next idea. I explained that I was going to ask those guys with the ladder if I could use it to get myself up on my deck. "Oh, that's a long way up," she stated. "Yes, I've been trying not to think of it, but my options are limited," I responded. Lucky for me the guys not only said they would bring their three story extension ladder to my deck, but one of the guys would make the climb. When I was let back into my house, I gave him twenty bucks. He was hesitant to take it, but I told him it would be the best twenty bucks I spent all day. Once I was in and cooled down, I went and purchased another spare set of keys and hid one outside.

#2 My evening meeting was canceled, so I decided a pedicure was a good use of the extra time. I had planned on getting one a week ago, but life gets a bit busy. As I was waiting for the manicurist to check my nails, she pointed out the police officer next to my car. This was enough for me to know my nails were dry. Grabbing my sandals, I headed for my car. "Are you giving this car a ticket?" I questioned. "I'm trying to," the officer blurted. Trying to? I took this as a way out of the ticket. Although I really don't know what trying to means, I drove away without a ticket.

#3 I've been waiting for number three since I'm sure good things as well as bad things must come in three. Actually #1 and #2 could be considered good and/or bad. Maybe I shouldn't continue to wait for the third thing to happen after all.

IMO, these are definitely 2 good things. People are so nice sometimes. It's funny that a guy with a ladder was right there when you needed that the most.

Hope that # 3 comes your way soon.

Sankalpa Day 5

Today I went back to the interweb to find out what I could post about that would relate to sankalpa .  "...Sankalpa has the potential to release tremendous power by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal."  My chosen goal since May has truly been on being physically active.  Since it's cold and miserable out, I've been being active inside instead of outside.  December 6th (or something like that) was the last time I ventured outside for physical activity.  I, however, have still been going to they gym and focusing on being physically fit (or at least burning enough calories to eat more food).  Yesterday I received an early morning text from a friend in God's Country .  President Obama was talking about "The President's Challenge" .  Today (I tried yesterday and decided to put it off until today... forget out it... let it happen... put it aside... clear my mind of it... all probably sankalpa) I formed a group.  The...

What if... The Delivery

Molly was excited to get a package from her friend who lives in Alaska.  When she opened the box, she was confused.  Although the shirt was actually soft and of good quality, she was upset by the guns in the flag.  When she googled Holster's, it was exactly what she thought... pro-gun.  She didn't know how to handle the situation, so she sent a picture stating she was confused. Her friend had obviously lost her mind.  During the conversation, she kept proclaiming that she hadn't sent a t-shirt.  When Molly explained it was her writing on the box, things became weird.  The friend was in a state of denial.  Molly even sent a text with a picture of the writing on the box. Molly's friend was adamant that she sent homemade condiments.  She wouldn't give up on her story even though it was clear Molly is in possession of an NRA type t-shirt.  After much deliberation, the two friends realized what had happened.  The original box, wit...

Missing You

Two Sundays ago I missed church because I was out of town. Last Sunday I missed church because I could not get to church due to the marathon (blocking my path... not my running). Dad and I tried to leave early, but we did not leave early enough. I joked with Dad about the fact that they would miss me at church. When I checked my e-mail this evening, I actually had an e-mail from my pastor saying I was missed. It was a short e-mail, but it was sweet and definitely a positive part of my day.
