"Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me."
Today's church service was a service about peace. A wonderful lady that usually sits near me said, "I think today is a peace service." As she looked more closely at her bulletin she said, "It looks like any other Sunday." This is the wonderful thing about the service I attend, peace, nature, the Spirit within are always part of the service. Today's service, however, was about peace. As we sang a response about peace, the countries (most) of the world were also sung. At first I thought they might only mention the countries in midst of severe turmoil and chaos but many more were sung. Each member of the congregation had a small candle to place on a beautiful canvas of the world. Tears came to my eyes as I watched people who were deliberate and prayerful with the placement of their candle. We are reminded that peace begins with us. Let peace begin with me.
