Last year Treehugger.com asked readers to send in their New Year's resolutions. Yesterday they republished the list on the web site:
stop eating factory farmed meat
Confront one climate skeptic per week.
Im already a good cook, but now I want to become a cook who is great at making healthier foods.
change to low energy light bulbs
buy only recycled toilet paper
I resolve to walk 5 miles UP HILL, EACH WAY to school and/or work every day JUST to save carbon emissions!
Turn off my computer at night.
Use the car (at least) one less day a week.
eating healthier - Im a vegetarian and try to do the farmers market thing, but this year I want to respolve to try and really eat locally and choose fresh over packaged wherever possible. To really take my food choices seriously.
I want to try and not buy anything "new" over the next year.
Actually start carrying around a re-usable bag for shopping
Eat one entirely local meal per week
Give away 5 copies of An Inconvenient Truth or Who Killed the Electric Car?
none of the above, I am also perfect.
Although I am FAR from perfect, I did make and keep many of these resolutions. Some weren't really resolutions, but I did them (well, just because). I do try to buy local and/or organic whenever possible. My best change (not really a resolution) was to start carrying around bags in the back of my car for shopping. My resolution from this list (new for 2008) might be to see Who Killed the Electric Car?
BTW If a statement ends with a title ending in a question mark, what's the proper punctuation????
