Even though I have decorated my apartment, bought and wrapped all of my gifts, and set up my Advent candles, today I witnessed holiday spirit in a different way. Today I went on an adventure with my friend Spencer and her dog Milo. It seemed easy; we met at Pet Smart to get Milo's picture taken with Santa. When we arrived at the store, Santa was Asian which probably would have been OK, but his white wig did not cover his dark hair. Last year Milo had his picture taken with the same Santa. This year Spencer wanted something different. We left to get pictures taken of the two of them in front of her tree. Poor Milo had to wear reindeer antlers. Taking pictures in front of a tree is not quite the same as involving Santa, so we drove to Brooklyn Center (out of my comfort zone of "the circle."). It seems Santa was at one of her dealerships. He certainly was and he was not alone! Santa was accompanied by Mrs. Klaus, elves, reindeer, and a sleigh. Although Milo wasn't particularly pleased, he took a great picture with Spencer and the crew. To make things even better, Mrs. Klaus gave me a candy cane, my first of the season, even though I didn't get my picture taken. The holiday spirit was living in us all!
Today I went back to the interweb to find out what I could post about that would relate to sankalpa . "...Sankalpa has the potential to release tremendous power by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal." My chosen goal since May has truly been on being physically active. Since it's cold and miserable out, I've been being active inside instead of outside. December 6th (or something like that) was the last time I ventured outside for physical activity. I, however, have still been going to they gym and focusing on being physically fit (or at least burning enough calories to eat more food). Yesterday I received an early morning text from a friend in God's Country . President Obama was talking about "The President's Challenge" . Today (I tried yesterday and decided to put it off until today... forget out it... let it happen... put it aside... clear my mind of it... all probably sankalpa) I formed a group. The...
